Head of Finance, Preston, up to £67K + Benefits

Your new company

Your new role
As the Head of Finance, you will provide effective management and leadership for the Finance Team, including both qualified and transactional finance professionals. You will maintain relationships with external stakeholders, support budget holders, and provide timely financial reports. Additionally, you will advise senior leaders on key financial matters, develop and oversee financial policies and procedures, and ensure robust financial controls are in place. You will also lead the budget-setting and financial forecasting processes, monitor spend against budget, and support year-end accounting and audit processes.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified accountant (ICAEW/CIPFA/ACCA or equivalent) with experience in a similar role leading financial operations. Experience in the public or charity / non-profit sectors would be desirable but not essential. You should have a strong understanding of financial systems, managing change, and leading and developing a finance team. Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills are crucial, as is the ability to produce reports, action plans, and analyse complex information.

What you'll get in return
In return, you will receive a salary of approx £62K - £67K. You will also benefit from an excellent pension scheme, 26 days holiday plus the Christmas shutdown, increasing with long service, and a supportive work environment that values staff well-being and professional development. Your working week will be 37 hours per week, with flexible working hours, based four days a week onsite and a day working from home. Part-Time / 4 days per week will be considered.
