The Role
As a Head of Finance, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Providing financial leadership to the newly structured Major Nuclear Capital Programmes (MNCP) business unit; partnering with the senior leadership team to deliver strong financial and commercial performance.

Day-to-day, you’ll be focused upon leadership, coaching and development of finance staff; all whilst supporting the MNCP Finance Director with any project, growth or transformation activity:

• Production of high quality, valued management information and analyses to allow informed, and timely decision making.
• Ensuring that the cash performance is understood and maximised throughout the projects lifecycles.
• Responsible for ensuring all of the appropriate accounting standards, including IFRS 15 are applied and documented within accounting papers.
• Ensure complete compliance with all reporting agreed policy, procedures and regulations.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with key internal stakeholders to ensure provision of consistent monthly, predictable performance.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and requires 3 days per week onsite presence at our Devonport site in Plymouth, on a weekly basis alongside home working arrangements.

Essential Experience of the Head of Finance:

• Strong commercial acumen.
• Detailed knowledge of financial systems.
• Strong leadership skills and working in a collaborative environment.
• Experience in IFRS 15 long term contract accounting is highly desirable.
• Ideally, you will have a background in a regulated industry like the defence sector but, this is not essential.

Qualifications for the Head of Finance:

• You must hold a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, ACMA) or equivalent.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
