Overview: Forsyth Barnes have partnered with a sports organisation in the North-West of England on the search for a Head of Finance. This role will be responsible for ensuring effective day-to-day financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, banking, invoicing, debt collection, creditor payments, tax, audit, cashflow, and payroll.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee daily finance operations and maintain accurate financial records.
  2. Enhance financial controls and processes.
  3. Lead budget preparation and support budget holders.
  4. Provide accurate financial reports to stakeholders.
  5. Ensure compliance with financial reporting, VAT, and tax regulations.
  6. Manage payroll compliance and supervise the finance team.
  7. Approve invoice payments and contribute to improving service efficiency.
  8. Adhere to safeguarding policies and promote a healthy work environment.

Key Requirements:

  1. ACA or ACCA qualified with 5+ years PQE.
  2. Sports industry experience required.
  3. Experience in line management, financial reporting, and Capex projects.
  4. Strong communication, analytical, and Excel skills.
  5. Team player with high attention to financial detail.
  6. Flexible, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure, including evenings and weekends, with travel between sites.
