Moulsham High School
Role Profile
Salary: Leadership 6-8
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Required: 1st September 2025
About The Role
Moulsham High School is a larger than average 11-18 comprehensive school where all students consistently achieve highly. Overall progress and attainment have been well above Essex and national averages for the last 8 years, placing us in the top 9% of all schools nationally. ‘The mutual respect shown between pupils and staff ensures that learning takes place in a cordial environment and classrooms are welcoming places’ (Ofsted 2024).
We are looking for an experienced, driven business studies and/or economics specialist to lead our highly successful Business Studies, Economics and Computing Faculty. Our Heads of Faculty are senior leaders of the school and are pivotal to its continued success. The Business Studies, Economics and Computing Faculty works tirelessly to prepare students for the ever-changing world of work. Its teaching and learning are of high quality and staff are eager to explore new initiatives to raise standards and expand opportunities for all. In line with the school’s ethos, the faculty is staffed solely by subject specialists.
The successful candidate will also act as the Subject Leader for Business Studies and Economics and teach Business Studies and/or Economics up to and including A level. Both subjects are extremely popular at KS4 and KS5. The faculty also offers BTEC Business at Levels 2 and 3.
This role has become vacant due to the previous postholder securing a position closer to home from January 2025. It is a fantastic platform for further promotion to Assistant Headteacher and beyond.
Visits to the school prior to application are warmly welcomed and can be arranged using the contact details below. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and is not suitable for anyone who has been barred from working with children.
