The Position
The Head of ERP Technical Delivery will lead the strategy, architecture, and technical execution of the newly deployed IFS ERP system and related technologies. The role is responsible for the long-term technical vision and delivery of the ERP platform, ensuring it aligns with business objectives, supports operational needs, and is scalable for future growth.
The Head of ERP Technical Delivery will collaborate closely with product leaders to ensure the platform supports key business initiatives across all functional areas, resolving cross-functional decisions and mitigating system risks.
Key Accountabilities
Leadership and Coordination:
- Lead and direct a cross-functional team of technical professionals, including developers, integration specialists, and system administrators, to ensure the successful technical execution of the ERP system.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, both internally and externally, to ensure technical alignment and timely delivery of all components.
- Ensure team adherence to project management frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) and drive best practices within the team.
- Partner with other technical leaders to create a shared vision of architecture and establish architectural principles for the organization.
ERP Platform Strategy and Architecture:
- Define and implement the overall technical strategy for the IFS ERP platform, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals and wider IT strategy.
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of the ERP architecture to meet current and future business requirements.
- Establish a long-term technical roadmap for the ERP system, ensuring it can scale with business growth and adapt to new technologies.
- Ensure cloud solutions are designed for high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability.
- Define and govern reference and master data, collaborating with Product owners, data owners, and stewards in the business and supporting functions.
- Proactively collaborate with RES’s cyber security team, data officer/legal, regulatory and compliance experts to ensure alignment with RES risks and policies.
Integration Management:
- Oversee the integration of associated systems with the IFS ERP system using Boomi middleware, ensuring efficient data flow and process synchronization.
- Ensure design and implementation of custom integrations support seamless interaction between the ERP system and external systems, applications, and data sources.
- Ensure the technical infrastructure is optimized for performance, reliability, and scalability in support of integration needs.
Technical Delivery Oversight:
- Be accountable for the end-to-end technical delivery of the ERP system, ensuring optimal configuration, customization, data migration, and system performance.
- Work closely with value streams to ensure technical deliverables meet business needs, including timely execution of all phases of project delivery.
- Oversee system upgrades and releases.
- Ensure the ERP system meets the company’s performance, security, and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and optimization of ERP costs, including licensing and hosting costs.
- Work with value streams to resolve complex or high priority technical faults and incidents.
- Oversee Service-Management and operational processes and standards.
- Oversee provisioning and access related activities and requests within a defined security framework.
- Partner with value streams to ensure that technical solutions align with product roadmaps and business priorities.
- Support product teams in identifying technical dependencies, managing risks, and ensuring the technical platform enables optimal business process workflows.
- Provide technical leadership and input into product development.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
- Manage relationships with third-party suppliers, ensuring they deliver high-quality services according to contract terms.
- Negotiate service level agreements (SLAs) and hold suppliers accountable for performance.
Platform Reporting and Analytics:
- Own and drive the CoE’s data strategy, collaborating with Group IT to ensure alignment to wider organisational data and IT strategy.
- Oversee the development of reporting capabilities within the ERP system.
- Ensure integration of business intelligence (BI) and analytics tools.
- Lead on data and integration governance, quality control, and information auditing.
- Partner with business units to identify and develop custom reporting needs.
Business Process Support:
- Lead technical efforts to streamline and automate business processes within the ERP system.
- Provide continuous improvement recommendations.
Governance and Controls:
- Establish and maintain governance frameworks for ERP system changes.
- Define technical standards and best practices for system architecture, integration, and data management.
- Ensure robust quality assurance and testing procedures are in place for all technical deliverables.
- Proactively manage technical and controls risks associated with the ERP platform.
- Ensure the platform remains compliant with RES’ regulations, policies, data, and security standards.
- Ensure disaster recovery and business continuity plans meet requirements.
Team:

Knowledge
- Deep understanding of ERP platforms, particularly IFS.
- Fundamental knowledge of integration platforms like Boomi.
- Strong knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure, data management, integration, and system architecture.
- In-depth understanding of reporting and analytics tools.
- Strong experience managing large-scale ERP implementations.
- Experience leading technical change initiatives.
- Understanding of principles and practices for IT service management, DevOps, and Agile.
