We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Enterprise Service Testing Chapter to join our newly created Testing Automation Centre of Excellence team in Unity Place - Milton Keynes.

You'll help the Enterprise Service to improve the productivity and efficiency in QA activities by improving the testing automation levels, adopting tools, KPIs and methodologies, and by assembling teams with the right skillset to get them deployed.

As a chief in the team, you'll lead by example and will work closely with the other domains and stakeholders across the bank to help the bank to make the best outcomes for our customers.

  • Influencing and leading a team of engineers in the Domain towards excellence and responsibility
  • Finding synergies with other areas and facilitating adoption tools and methodologies
  • Developing and executing Testing automation strategies plans to improve level of Testing Automation, including backlogs while ensuring product evolution through different product releases
  • Ensuring that technology practices and design patterns are aligned to best standards and in line with the wider company strategy, proving excellence in Quality Assurance experience
  • Managing resources and teams that are in the Chief Information Office and Centre of Excellence and closing the gap in the knowledge in terms of technology, methodology, and testing tools roadmap
  • Building and heading a high-performing team with a focus on driving innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement

What you’ll bring:

These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:

  • Performance and proficient with Agile and DevOps approach
  • Knowledge or experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Kubernetes
  • Experience of using various technologies for automation/DevOps pipelining; this includes exposure to a range of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) technologies
  • Proven IT project management skills in relation to Agile/DevOps transition projects
  • Proven experience working in a team with shared responsibilities and grasp of monitoring tools, approach, and implementation
  • Proven experience with references implementing on customer projects using some of the next technologies: JAVA, Atlassian Stack (JIRA, GitLab, Jenkins, Maven, Groovy, Nexus, Confluence), Appium, Selenium WebDriver, Mac OSX, Windows, iOS, Android, AWS, Docker, Python

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with experience building and leading high-performing, cross-functional teams with a proven track record of delivering projects in time, within scope, and within budget
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience in the domain of Enterprise Service, Financial Crime, Payments, or Banking and Savings would be a plus
  • Experience in Product Management and driving results in Agile environments, including developing and launching commercially successful products

This permanent role is based in Unity Place – Milton Keynes.

To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).

  1. 1st Stage – Technical Interview – this will be a 30min technical interview with one of the team.
  2. 2nd Stage – A 1 hour formal interview where we will ask both technical and competency-based questions. This can be done virtually or face to face depending on your situation.
