We are looking for a talented and experienced Head of Design to lead a multidisciplinary design function of over 20 design professionals. You will be responsible for defining Elekta’s design vision and strategy across our full portfolio of hardware and software solutions.

Our portfolio is undergoing an exciting transformation to bring together all our products, solutions, and services under a single umbrella, providing users with a unified user experience. Your creativity and strategic vision will help drive the next phase of this strategy, elevating profitability and growing market share.

This is a senior leadership position. You should be a leader of leaders and a visionary, ready to take our portfolio to the next level. You will be reporting to the SVP & Head of Product & Design - Linac & Software Solutions and will join the Product & Design Management Team.

We have a hybrid setup where employees are expected to work from an office 3 days per week. The candidate could be based out of either Crawley, Helsinki, Netherlands, or Atlanta.

What you’ll do at Elekta

As a people leader:

• You manage and lead a multidisciplinary design function of 20+ design professionals.
• You guide and oversee the management of the design teams (Industrial Design, UX Research/Usability, UX Design, & UX Development).
• You inspire and set the direction for the development of the Design function, advocating for its development to meet the needs of the future.

As a design & product leader:

• You are responsible for the development of Elekta’s design vision and strategy to ensure that our product portfolio of both software and hardware products meets the current and future needs of our end users and customers, offering a coherent & consistent, unified User Experience across the portfolio.
• You guide the iterative transformation and development of the enterprise User Experience, working collaboratively across different functions, and business and product lines.
• You ensure that design, as a function, aligns with Elekta’s strategic business objectives through your work as part of the Product & Design management team.
• You report directly to the Head of Product & Design.

What you bring

• At least 5 years working in the Medical Devices field.
• At least 5 years in a strategic leadership role (Head/Director/VP of Design/UX, etc.).
• At least 15 years of experience from applicable fields of design (UX, Industrial Design, Usability/Human Factors, UX Research, Design Management, etc.).
• A minimum of a Masters degree in User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Track record of leading large multi-disciplinary Design teams responsible for managing large and complex product portfolios.
• Enhanced leadership and communication skills with proven experience collaborating and influencing across functions.
• Creative thinking and entrepreneurial drive.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally without restrictions.
