Job Title: Head of Creative

Location: London - hybrid working

Salary: Depending on Experience - £60-80k

This is a wonderful opportunity to join a leading Events and Experiential business who are making spectacular staged and brand events in UK, Middle East and beyond.

This is an operational and managerial role versus a creative concept role but suits someone with creative background with in-depth experience in developing creative ideas strategically and executionally as well as talent development elements of the role.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Creative to lead our multidisciplinary creative team, including designers, copywriters, and strategists. This individual will provide strategic leadership, foster innovation, and oversee creative delivery across all projects. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in storytelling, design, and production, coupled with outstanding leadership and management skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Creative Leadership

  • Lead and inspire a team of creatives, ensuring high-quality output and innovative solutions.
  • Refine and implement effective creative processes, regularly reviewing for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Heads of Departments to align creative outputs with organizational goals.
  • Champion creative excellence across all projects and manage crisis intervention when needed.
  • Audit and enhance creative tools and templates, ensuring consistency and usability.

2. Team Development

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, skill-sharing, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee team progression through regular feedback and personal development plans.
  • Build and execute a robust training plan tailored to departmental and individual growth.
  • Conduct bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with team members to monitor progress and engagement.

3. Budget & Resource Management

  • Manage the department’s budget and identify opportunities for growth and optimization.
  • Work closely with the Creative Resource Manager to allocate resources and balance team workloads effectively.
  • Lead recruitment efforts for new talent, building relationships with institutions to source fresh creative talent.
  • Oversee onboarding and integration of new team members and external collaborators.

4. Creative Production

  • Expand and maintain a database of creative suppliers and local talent to support high-quality project execution.
  • Collaborate with external production teams to ensure seamless integration of creative elements into live events.

5. Strategic Insight

  • Stay informed about industry trends and innovations, sharing insights to enhance team performance and company culture.
  • Advocate for continuous learning and development within the team.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a senior creative leadership role.
  • Expertise in creative strategy, storytelling, design, and production.
  • Strong understanding of team management, including recruitment and development.
  • Excellent budget management and resource allocation skills.
  • Strong crisis management skills with the ability to provide immediate and effective solutions.
  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for nurturing creative talent.
