Insights is a Learning and Development company which aims to change the world through the power of self-awareness. Our core purpose is to create a world where people truly understand themselves and others and are inspired to make a positive difference in everything they do.

The Head of Corporate Development and Alliances is responsible for developing and implementing an inorganic growth strategy that is aligned to our organisational strategy. You will be responsible for managing our strategic alliance lifecycle which will increase growth in our core learning and development market in addition to extending our total addressable market through diversification opportunities. Our addressable market will grow through geographical expansion, near market adjacencies and by bringing our personality model into entirely new markets.

You will be responsible for creating, prioritising and managing a pipeline of inorganic growth opportunities that is aligned to our organisational strategy and realises significant potential beyond our current market. Working across our functions and regions, you will also be accountable for successfully integrating alliances and acquisitions into Insights’ current organisation.

You’ll work closely with our Executive and Board. Successfully executing your inorganic growth plan will have a significant impact on company performance and ultimately the value of the organisation.

Job Description

  • Strategic Growth Initiatives: Develop and execute an inorganic growth strategy that considers acquisitions, partnerships, and joint ventures that drive our organisational strategy.
  • Geographic Growth: Work with our Head of Strategic Marketing, our Partner Channel, and other stakeholders to develop and deploy our Insights geographic expansion plan.
  • Corporate Finance: Manage existing and develop new corporate finance engagements including managing our current investment portfolio.
  • Market Analysis and Opportunity Assessment: Analyse market trends, competitive landscapes, and potential opportunities for corporate expansion.
  • Deal Structuring and Negotiation: Lead negotiations and structure deals, ensuring favourable terms and alignment with organisational strategy.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executives and board members, potential partners and investors.
  • Working in a matrix organisation: Build strong and effective working relationships across a functional-geographical matrixed organisation.
  • Team Leadership: As our corporate development requirements grow, hire, develop and mentor a team focused on alliances and inorganic growth.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of shaping Insights Learning and Development’s growth strategy, extending our reach within our current learning and development market and beyond.

Qualifications

You will have a background in practice and/or industry, particularly within corporate development or corporate finance roles. You are expected to have strong analytical skills, enabling you to identify and leverage industry trends to align with our inorganic growth strategy effectively.

In this role, you will be highly self-sufficient, taking ownership of managing deals through their entire lifecycle with minimal support. Your experience should include working at the Executive and Board level, where you can demonstrate your ability to influence and guide strategic decision-making.

A key aspect of this role will be building and maintaining a robust network of industry contacts. These relationships will be instrumental in both the development and execution of our inorganic growth strategy. Additionally, while not mandatory, you may possess a CA or ACCA qualification.

How you'll show up:

You possess a strategic mindset that combines analytics, innovation, and commercial acumen to develop and execute inorganic growth and alliance strategies that drive measurable results. You'll develop a deep understanding of the company's products, market, and competitors that will enable you to craft strategies that directly support business goals. You are results-oriented, with a strong attention to detail, excellent planning skills, and the ability to manage risks effectively, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and meet expectations.

As a relationship builder, you excel in communication and forge connections across all levels of the organization. You work collaboratively, ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders, and partner closely with strategy, product, and sales teams to leverage alliances for business growth. You set bold, ambitious goals, creating strategies that turn growth opportunities into successful outcomes, demonstrating your commitment to both growth and innovation.

In your role as an inspirational leader, you motivate and develop your team, serving as a role model in collaborative working and continuous development. Your adaptability allows you to connect with others by adjusting your communication style to suit different personalities and cultural contexts, ensuring effective collaboration and building strong working relationships across diverse teams.
