Role Overview:

They are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Consulting to lead the consultancy division. This senior leadership role will oversee the delivery of consulting services, focused on energy transition, net-zero strategies, sustainable transport, and GIS solutions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in consulting, strong technical expertise, and a passion for driving the decarbonisation agenda.

You will be responsible for growing and managing the consulting practice, ensuring the successful delivery of high-impact projects, and developing client relationships. As the Head of Consulting, you will lead a multidisciplinary team, provide strategic direction, and foster innovation in the areas of energy and transport decarbonisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, inspire, and manage a high-performing team of consultants, providing mentorship, guidance, and support.
  • Develop and execute the consulting strategy, aligning it with the company’s overall vision and goals in the energy, transport, and GIS sectors.
  • Drive the growth of the consulting division by identifying new business opportunities, expanding client relationships, and leading proposals.
  • Oversee the successful delivery of client projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes, on-time delivery, and within budget.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, define project scopes, and deliver tailored solutions that support their sustainability and net-zero goals.
  • Manage project teams, ensuring effective resource allocation, risk management, and quality assurance.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with existing and potential clients in energy, transport, and GIS industries.
  • Represent the company at senior-level meetings, industry events, and conferences to establish thought leadership and promote services.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for new consulting services, partnerships, and strategic alliances in energy transition and sustainable transport.
  • Provide expert advice on energy transition, net-zero strategies, and transport decarbonisation, leveraging the latest technologies and GIS tools.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure best-in-class solutions are delivered to clients.
  • Oversee the financial health of the consulting division, including budgeting, forecasting, and managing margins.
  • Develop and implement operational processes to ensure the consulting practice is efficient, profitable, and scalable.
  • Report on division performance to senior management, identifying areas for improvement and growth.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a senior consulting role within the energy, transport, or GIS sectors, with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the decarbonisation and net-zero space.
  • Expertise in delivering complex projects related to energy transition, sustainability, or decarbonisation, with a track record of driving successful outcomes.
  • Strong leadership and people management experience, with the ability to motivate and lead cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, or a related field (Master’s degree or equivalent preferred).
  • MBA is a preference.
  • Relevant professional qualifications or certifications in sustainability, energy management, GIS, or transport planning are advantageous.
  • Years of experience in consultancy or a similar leadership role.
