Job Title: Head of Commercial Performance
Location: Thurmaston – Hybrid

Head of Commercial Performance will be instrumental in shaping and driving Arriva's commercial strategies, focusing on data-driven insights and fostering a performance-led culture. Reporting to senior leadership, this role demands strategic foresight, operational excellence, and a collaborative approach to support our regional and national teams in achieving their objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and own forecasting frameworks for passenger numbers, revenue, miles, and hours to support Medium-Term Plans (MTP), budget updates, and submissions.
  2. Maintain rolling monthly forecasts, providing oversight of revenue risks and opportunities.
  3. Establish and maintain activity-based/trading reports to inform and support commercial performance.
  4. Deliver timely, data-driven insights from robust datasets.
  5. Use data analysis to develop strategies for revenue, patronage, and EBIT growth.
  6. Provide commercial analysis for decisions related to route profitability, marketing, digital channels, pricing, tenders, and business development.
  7. Work with the senior commercial team to embed a performance-led culture.
  8. Conduct regular performance reviews and deep dives, offering actionable insights for regional commercial teams.
  9. Lead and develop a team of commercial analysts, ensuring consistency and quality in methodologies and outputs.
  10. Act as the main interface with Business Intelligence (BI) teams to align and prioritize commercial requirements.
  11. Create robust processes to track revenues linked to commercial activities, including setting and monitoring performance targets.
  12. Ensure all actions are aligned with the overall business strategy.
  13. Undertake tasks as directed by senior management in line with business objectives.
  14. Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and uphold diversity and corporate social responsibility principles.

About You:

  1. Proven experience in a senior commercial or analytical role, preferably within the transport, retail, or service industries.
  2. Expertise in forecasting, performance tracking, and commercial analysis.
  3. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to foster collaboration across departments.
  4. Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities with proficiency in BI tools.
  5. Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders and driving change.
