Job Description

The Head of Business Applications leads the strategic application roadmap within Data & Technology, ensuring robust, scalable solutions aligned with organizational needs. This role requires expertise in Agile and DevOps to guide a team of Developers, Product Owners, and Trainers. Working with the CDTO, you will drive digital transformation, boost efficiency, and foster innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Play a key role in the Data & Technology leadership team, shaping the organization's technology strategy.
• Define and execute a strategic roadmap for business applications, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Champion Agile and DevOps practices to improve application delivery, scalability, and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with the CDTO and senior stakeholders to align technology investments with business priorities.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Software Developers, Product Owners, and Technical Trainers.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Provide coaching and professional development to enhance team skills and performance.
• Promote diversity, inclusion, and employee well-being within the team.

Operational Excellence

• Oversee the full lifecycle of business applications, from design and development to deployment and support.
• Implement strong governance frameworks to ensure quality, security, and compliance.
• Work cross-functionally to deliver projects on time and within budget, driving measurable business value.
• Continuously monitor and optimize application performance for reliability and efficiency.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as the bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and strategic alignment.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to identify and implement opportunities for innovation and improvement in business applications.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidates for the Head of Business Applications will have the following experience:

Relevant Experience & Skills

• Proven leadership experience managing business applications in complex organizations.
• Strong expertise in Agile and DevOps, with a track record of driving adoption.
• Extensive experience in developing and executing strategic roadmaps for business applications.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills, fostering high performance.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, with experience working at executive and board levels.
• Deep knowledge of modern application architectures, cloud platforms, and emerging technologies.

Desirable

• Experience with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, and custom application development.
• Familiarity with UK compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Certifications in Agile, DevOps, or cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS).

What's on Offer

This role is offering up to £85,000 per annum for the Head of Business Applications role. This opportunity offers Hybrid working and the role is based in Windlesham.
