Key Responsibilities:

  • Creative Direction and Vision:
    - Define and implement the overarching creative vision and direction for the brand.
    - Develop innovative and trend-setting fashion collections that align with the brand’s identity and market position.
    - Ensure all designs reflect the brand's style, quality, and values.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    - Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of fashion designers.
    - Foster a collaborative and creative work environment.
    - Identify and nurture talent within the design team, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Design Process Management:
    - Oversee the entire design process from concept to final product.
    - Ensure timely delivery of design projects, meeting all deadlines and quality standards.
    - Implement and manage efficient design workflows and processes.
  • Market Research and Trend Analysis:
    - Conduct market research to stay abreast of industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities.
    - Integrate market insights into design strategies to ensure relevance and innovation.
    - Attend fashion shows, exhibitions, and other industry events to gather inspiration and stay connected with the fashion community.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    - Work closely with product development, marketing, and merchandising teams to ensure cohesive and market-ready collections.
    - Communicate design concepts and vision effectively across departments.
    - Collaborate with sourcing and production teams to ensure the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of designs.
  • Quality Control and Standards:
    - Ensure all designs meet the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
    - Implement and uphold rigorous quality control processes.
    - Address any design-related issues that arise during the production process.
  • Sustainability and Innovation:
    - Promote sustainable design practices and the use of eco-friendly materials.
    - Drive innovation in design techniques, materials, and processes.
    - Stay informed about advancements in fashion technology and integrate relevant innovations into the design process.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    - Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
    - An advanced degree in fashion design or a related discipline is a plus.
  • Experience:
    - 8+ years of experience in fashion design, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
    - Proven track record of successful fashion collections and design leadership.
    - Experience with both high-end and mass-market fashion is preferred.
  • Skills:
    - Exceptional creative and artistic abilities.
    - Strong leadership and team management skills.
    - Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    - Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.).
    - Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and textiles.
    - Ability to translate market trends and consumer insights into successful designs.

  • Reports to the Creative Director or Chief Product Officer.
