This is a vacancy for Head Chef at the Lowfield Inn, Marton SY21 8JX. Half way between Welshpool and Shrewsbury.
We need someone to run our steadily busy kitchen and work with our young and vibrant team of chefs.
We cook fresh food from scratch using fresh ingredients, local where possible. Have a look at our menu - http://www.lowfieldinn.com - there's influences from a lot of different regions and styles. We change the menu when we feel like it and following the seasons so as Head Chef you will drive these changes and use your repertoire to good effect! We experiment a little from time to time as well.
You'll need to be hard working (obvs), reliable, have a good sense of humour (no shouty chefs please) and be outgoing enough to build a rapport with our regular guests as well - they like to get to know who's doing the cooking.
Hours are 48 per week, 5 days on and 2 days (together) off. You'll need to work most weekends (surprise, surprise) but can always book the occasional weekend off for Granny's hen weekend etc.
This would be an ideal first Head Chef appointment for someone ready to run their own kitchen.
Oh, and you have to drive as well. We're a bit out in the sticks and the bus only runs once a year.
