We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to oversee both the Novotel and ibis here in Southampton, who will lead the way in creating kitchens to be proud of. You’ll be full of inspiration, instilling the passion that ensures all the food that leaves the kitchens is of the highest standard. Managing all areas of the kitchen, you will become an integral part of our kitchen team at the Novotel & Ibis combined Hotels in Southampton.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Train and inspire your team to deliver food to be proud of.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, presentation, and hygiene.
  • Energetic, adaptable, and passionate about Modern British cuisine.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Minimise wastage and encourage creative thinking.
  • Ensure good kitchen planning to enable a trouble-free service and customer satisfaction.
  • A genuinely enthusiastic Head Chef who has a passion about food standards and customer service.
  • Able to cook freshly prepared food with an eye for detail and presentation.
  • A strong leader with the ability to lead, coach and develop your team.
  • Financially aware and able to manage/work to budget.
  • Able to compile staff rotas for the kitchen ensuring adequate coverage for each shift.
  • Ensure the correct ordering of foods to match the demand of daily menu needs.
  • To carry out full stock takes in accordance with Company Standards.
  • To be aware of and comply with Company and Legal requirements relating to fire, safety and hygiene.
  • To be smart and presentable at all times in the uniform provided for you by the Company. To be punctual and to ensure high standards of personal hygiene at all times.
  • Able to work well under pressure remaining calm at all times.

Working Hours:

  • As per the business needs and demands. Ability to work mornings, evenings and late nights including weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Head Chef.
  • 5 to 10 years' professional experience in a range of contexts and good knowledge of food delivery.
  • Recognised management skills.
  • Computer literate (Windows environment), PMS, and an aptitude for new technologies.
  • Languages: fluent in English.
