Head Chef - Hotel - £42,000.00-£43,000.00 per year plus an achievable quarterly bonus, 40 hour contract - Straight Shifts

Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Head Chef for our modern and trendy Hotel. You will lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. Previous experience working in a branded kitchen is required as you will be working with company menus, along with having banqueting experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and a deep understanding of food safety standards. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining a positive and efficient work environment. Your leadership skills will be essential in guiding the team to achieve excellence in hospitality.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead and manage the kitchen team, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
  2. Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality.
  3. Develop and design innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to customer preferences.
  4. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment.
  5. Supervise inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
  6. Train and mentor kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food safety practices, and customer service standards.
  7. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
  8. Monitor kitchen performance metrics and implement improvements as necessary.

Qualifications

  1. Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role within a restaurant environment.
  2. Strong knowledge of food production techniques, kitchen management, and food safety regulations.
  3. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  4. Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
  5. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
  6. Passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences.
  7. Culinary degree or relevant qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
