HEAD BARISTA/SHIFT LEADER

Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head Barista to join our vibrant team.

As a Head Barista, you will play a crucial role in supervising a small team of baristas/bar staff depending on shifts. You will also hold responsibility for ensuring quality control of all hot and cold beverages, food service, customer service, and barista etiquette. You will work closely with the manager to develop and grow the business and create a successful and professional team. These supervisory tasks will work alongside creating an exceptional coffee experience for our customers by preparing and serving high-quality beverages while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Duties
Supervise a group of baristas to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the business and ensure a positive working environment.

1. Able to work on own initiative and work alongside management.
2. Take lead on training and coordinating quality control of hot and cold beverages and food hygiene and cleaning practices.
3. Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences.
4. Ensure all food preparation meets safety and hygiene standards, adhering to food safety regulations.
5. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, including equipment and utensils.
6. Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and offering recommendations.
7. Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours.
8. Handle cash transactions accurately, utilising basic maths skills for processing payments.
9. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting any shortages or discrepancies.

Qualifications
Previous experience as a Head Barista/Shift leader is preferred.
Strong team building and leadership skills.
Understanding of food safety practices.
Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently.
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately.
A friendly and approachable demeanour with a passion for providing outstanding customer service.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.00-£14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
