HE Lecturer - Engineering
Salary: Up to £39,340 per annum depending on experience, plus £3,000 market premium payment
Hours: 35 per week
Weeks Per Year: Full Year
Contract Type: Permanent
Site: Accrington & Rossendale / Nelson & Colne College

The Exciting Role

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Lecturer in Engineering to join our Higher Education Team, as our University Centre continues to expand its undergraduate offer. The college is part of the Lancashire & Cumbria Institute of Technology and the Engineering offer forms a major part of this provision. We have one programme offered as a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) and we offer a degree apprenticeship for Engineering too.

The successful candidate will be primarily based at the Accrington & Rossendale College University Centre, but will also have set delivery days at the Nelson & Colne College University Centre. Ad-hoc travel across sites may also be required.

What You Will Be Doing:

  1. Teach on HE Engineering programmes (HNC/D, BEng) - all subject specialisms will be considered, delivering effective learning for students
  2. To plan and prepare a high-quality learning experience, including for delivery online, as required.
  3. Develop and share resources for the subject including maintaining effective links across the College Group.
  4. Ensure assessment is planned, set and carried out to the highest standard and follows internally and externally set undergraduate regulations.

What We Are Looking For:

  1. A Degree in a relevant subject area
  2. A higher degree (MA/MSc/Mphil) or PhD or willingness to pursue
  3. Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) or willingness to work towards within three years of appointment
