Hardlines Technologist

Our Own Label team are now looking for a Hardlines Technologist to join them here at Harrods, based in our Hammersmith Headquarters.


About the Role

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring our products meet the highest standards from design conception to customer use. Working closely with Buyers, Designers, and Suppliers, you will oversee product development, compliance, and supply chain management to deliver excellence across categories such as Stationery, Home, Toys, and Seasonal products.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Managing technical development, compliance, and supplier performance.
  • Leading quality assurance processes, including testing, approvals, and supplier audits.
  • Driving product sustainability and ethical sourcing initiatives.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product launches.
  • Managing databases such as SAP and PLM systems for accurate product information.
  • Supporting the Senior Technical Manager and mentoring an Assistant Technologist.

About You

You will be a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with experience in technical product development within Hardlines categories. Your expertise in product compliance, supplier management, and quality assurance allows you to drive efficiency and uphold Harrods' reputation for excellence.

You will also have:

  • Experience in product compliance laws, supplier auditing, and certification processes.
  • A strategic mindset with strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and CSR processes.
  • Proficiency in SAP, PLM, and data management tools.
