Based in Newcastle, but working across the region for over 29 years, our patron is Professor Michael Marmot. Our work has been recognised by a King’s Fund/GSK award for our work improving the physical and mental health of people across the North East of England.

We work in partnership with NHS and Local Authority colleagues and communities in many sectors to devise cost effective solutions that secure sustainable health impacts for many conditions that inhibit quality of life.

The Role

You will:

  1. Carry out repair/installation jobs e.g. joinery tasks, equipment assembly, basic plumbing.
  2. Identify and report higher level repair work as appropriate e.g. plant room equipment faults, specialist plumbing and electrical type work.
  3. Respond to ad hoc issues relating to facilities, hygiene and maintenance.
  4. Carry out regular health and safety checks in accordance with legislation and organisational schedules e.g. water safety checks, emergency light testing, fire alarm call point checks, PAT testing.
  5. Interior and exterior decoration.
  6. Assist with office moves.
  7. Support with maintenance of the Lemington community garden.
  8. Ensure the upkeep of the security of the buildings and its users are maintained.
  9. Implement practical arrangements and source solutions to maintain high standards of health and safety.

About You

You will be an enthusiastic individual, motivated to use your skills to make a real difference for our clients. You will be passionate about creating an environment which enables our clients and communities to improve their health.

The successful candidate will embrace and reflect the values upheld by Healthworks. Our commitment to tackling health inequalities is at the heart of everything we do.

Our Commitment

We know how important our team is to the amazing work that we do in our local communities. So in return we offer:

  1. 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  2. Free membership to both our gyms.
