At Lush HairLab, we take pride in providing an exceptional salon experience, tailoring our services to meet the unique needs of each client's hair and scalp. Our dedication to one-on-one attention allows us to achieve authentic results that align with our clients' personal style. Our primary objective is to offer an enriching and educational journey for our clients, empowering them with knowledge about their hair and scalp health while leaving them feeling fabulous both inside and out.

We hold a deep appreciation for the artistry of hairdressing and barbering and strongly believe in empowering our stylists to showcase their unique talents. Our objective is to create a diverse team that reflects the broad range of our products, and caters to all hair types and textures. By doing so, we aim to foster an inclusive environment where everyone feels embraced and their individual needs are met when they visit our HairLab salon in Brighton.

Responsibilities

1. Learn and provide Lush HairLab services; you will be performing the full client journey including consultation, product choices, hair washing, cutting and styling.
2. Collaborating with your clients, not pushing an aesthetic onto them but carving out their true hair identity. Building rapport, being inquisitive, asking questions and sharing your knowledge with them.
3. Educate the client in what they need to create the style and effect at home.
4. Communication is key to a successful salon and team. As part of this role, you would be expected to contribute to and maintain this supportive working environment.
5. You would be expected to maintain standards of both personal and workspace presentation, cleanliness and hygiene.
6. Assist retail sales and have 5* consultations with clients and customers on the shop floor area when not with clients.
7. Support shops & attend events (internal and external) to promote new hair care product or service launches.
8. Using specialist skills and knowledge to support the Lush PR team to promote the Lush HairLab.
9. Showcase a can-do attitude and attention to detail.
10. The ability to share Lush's buying stories, ethics and product knowledge throughout the customer journey.
11. Confident and decisive to ensure the client feels safe in expert hands.
12. Must be motivated, trustworthy, and driven.
13. Must be open-minded to our new approach to hairdressing.
14. Accepting of being an equal in the salon.
15. Be open to adopting new ways of describing hair by using positive language.

1. Minimum SVQ/NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing.
2. Minimum 3 years experience with running a column, or able to demonstrate why you should be considered.
3. To have an established client base local to Brighton is beneficial but not essential.
4. Able to present up-to-date skills and techniques.
5. Have a developed high level skill set in all areas across the cutting sector, passionate in hair cutting and styling.
6. Exceptional customer service skills including careful communication and consultations.
7. Organised and punctual approach to salon life.
8. Professional and client-focused.
9. An open-minded approach to receiving further training in the Lush HairLab way.
10. Skills and experience in educating in your specialist field to the team is beneficial but not essential.
