Gymnastics Coach

GLL, the UK’s largest leisure provider and one of the first and largest leisure social enterprises, is looking for Gymnastics Coaches based at Sutton Sports Village, in Surrey, for our lessons and courses for children and adults.

A Gymnastics Coach is a highly rewarding role. You need to be passionate about gymnastics and want to share that passion with your pupils and colleagues alike. Our gymnastics coaches are good all-rounders, and you’ll also specialise in any of a number of disciplines that we teach such as men’s and women’s artistic, rhythmic, trampoline, and acrobatic.

As an experienced gymnastics coach, you’ll be qualified to Level 1, 2, or 3. You’ll thrive on seeing others develop, and as your courses and lessons will be your own to lead and plan, you’ll influence their success and growth. Ensuring the lessons are enjoyable, you’ll be able to think on your feet and be creative with the facilities around you, while making sure that your pupils are constantly observed and kept safe. Due to our size and scale, there will be plenty of hours available for you to coach, and as our courses grow, there will be more opportunities to further develop your career with us. What you need:

1. A real focus on customer service.

3. Knowledge of health and safety.
4. Be a great team player.
5. Qualified at Level 1, 2, or 3.

What you’ll do:

1. Setting up equipment.
2. Dealing with customer queries.
3. Teaching high-quality gymnastics at a variety of levels.
4. Delivering lessons that are safe, fun, and progressive.
5. Safe coaching and supporting skills.
6. Completing registers and assessments of participants using GLL tablets.
7. Completing or assisting with equipment set-ups.
8. Completing or assisting with warm-ups and cool-downs.
9. Assisting with the assessment process (award scheme and skills matrix).
10. Providing parental feedback where required.
11. Level 1 coaches aged 18+ may be responsible for the overall delivery of lessons and courses.
