Qualifying inbound interest, lead scoring and arranging appointments for the subject matter experts within the portfolio companies to then close.
The role initially be player-manager - with equal time between "selling" and "planning". But within a short period of time, as traction is proven, could become almost exclusively "management" and "networking" as junior members are recruited in order to scale the "selling" capacity.
