About us:
Allwyn UK is part of Allwyn Entertainment Group - a multi-national lottery operator with a market-leading presence in Austria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Cyprus, and Italy. From February 2024, Allwyn commenced its new role as operator of the UK's National Lottery.

Role Purpose:
An exciting opportunity in a key and broad financial role within an innovative multibillion pound business. The incumbent will be a key member of the team delivering the financial records of Allwyn Entertainment Lotteries and its fellow group companies, to include the statutory reporting process, monthly management reporting, and reporting to the ultimate shareholder, Allwyn Group. This role will report to the Reporting Financial Controller.

Team/Department Description:
The Finance department ensures the business is financially sound, has robust accounting and reporting processes, and delivers financial targets including profitability and returns to Good Causes.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support the Reporting Financial Controller with delivery of the Group results for Allwyn Entertainment
  • Lead the statutory, monthly and quarterly financial reporting processes alongside being involved in the overall period end process for the Holding and Financing Companies. Overall responsibility for ensuring that financial results are accurately reported on a timely basis in accordance with IFRS
  • Develop and implement a robust intercompany and related parties process, through liaising across multiple stakeholder groups, including other Allwyn Group entities, to ensure that we are compliant with the Fourth License requirements per the Gambling Commission; and all amounts are agreed and reconciled
  • Review of the monthly Holding and Financing Companies trial balance to ensure accuracy of month end numbers
  • Ensure that queries raised by the Allwyn Group consolidation function, as part of the quarterly submission process, are managed in a timely manner and escalated as necessary
  • Liaise with other departments as appropriate to ensure that all relevant considerations (legal, corporation tax, VAT, Lottery Duty etc) have been taken into account in the financial reporting process
  • Own the relationship with the auditors for Group reporting, ensuring that requests are delivered in a timely manner, and fielded as required to correct stakeholders.
  • Support the review of accounting policies to ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards and reporting requirements
  • Management and coaching of one direct report
  • Review, lead and deliver an automated process for Group reporting
  • Streamline the year end Group reporting process ensuring that responsibilities for delivery are with the correct team with clear guidance and communication.

Key Skills & Experience:
  • ACA or ACCA or similarly qualified accountant with statutory reporting and control-based experience
  • Experience of operating in a month/period end cycle - working to tight deadlines and delivery of a successful month end
  • Experience of interpreting and applying new accounting standards
  • Experience of delivering process improvement, including driving efficiencies
  • Experience of coaching junior team members to impart knowledge
  • Proven aptitude using accounting systems, ideally SAP, and an ability to understand and adapt to different systems and ways of working
  • Proven experience of analysing and interpreting financial data
  • Demonstrable ability to articulate and present using effective written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
  • Ability to use the Microsoft Office suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel
