Group Management Accountant

Burton Upon Trent / hybrid working

Elevation Senior Finance are delighted to be the retained partner to Project Better Energy, as they look to recruit a Group Management Accountant for their head office in Burton Upon Trent.

Project Better Energy is the UK’s leading renewable energy services provider. They offer a wide range of renewable energy services and technologies to both consumer and commercial markets. With private equity investment, the business has plans to significantly grow revenue over the next few years both organically and through acquisitions.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Group Management Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial accounting and reporting for several business entities across the Group, as well as supporting senior managers, by providing detailed analysis of financial information to support key decision making.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts for the group and its subsidiaries
2. Provide detailed financial analysis to support decision making across the business
3. Prepare group consolidated financial statements
4. Prepare / review of group-wide budgets and forecasts and analysis of variances
5. Assist the Group FC to manage the group's cash flow position
6. Assist in group treasury activities, including debt and working capital management
7. Ensure compliance with financial controls, group policies, and accounting standards
8. Ownership of balance sheet reconciliation process
9. Support the annual audit process
10. Identify areas for process improvements and drive continuous improvement
11. Manage and mentor two Assistant Management Accountants

Key skills / qualifications:

1. ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification
2. Previous experience of working in external audit
3. Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements
4. Proficient with Excel
5. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data
6. Team management experience
7. Strong communication skills including ability to present financial information
8. Experience in statutory accounts production, group consolidations and intercompany accounting is highly desirable
