CMA Executive is delighted to have been retained by this iconic PLC international business to identify a Group Financial Controller, who will be based at its Hampshire headquarters.

The company has a long, distinguished, and fascinating history. It has grown into the world’s largest business within its sector, a global presence, and high-profile customers who include leading brands.

The Group Financial Controller is a senior position within the Finance Leadership team and is ultimately responsible for all aspects of financial management including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, financial risk management as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.

What will the Group Financial Controller role involve?

  • Ensure overall Group and individual companies comply with all IFRS, financial reporting requirements of FCA listing rules and UK/overseas filing requirements.
  • Lead the Group on all technical financial reporting & disclosure issues, providing clear guidance, effective & relevant training.
  • Drive internal controls excellence and ownership across the Group, acting as a champion for internal & external audit whilst ensuring appropriate accountability among site and divisional management.
  • Ensure SAP BPC finance systems are in place to support well-controlled capturing, consolidating and reporting of financial commitments and transactions at both company and group levels.
  • Refinancing, including coordination with Banks, Legal Team, Auditors, and external lawyers and advisors.
  • Initial finance lead and overall coordination of acquisition activities, due diligence requests, fair value calculations for goodwill, customer relationships, and listed debt.

Suitable Candidate for the Group Financial Controller vacancy:

  • The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Accountant (or similar) with strong IFRS knowledge.
  • Prior leadership experience as a Group Financial Controller of a multinational business.
  • Track record as an effective leader who is confident influencing across a matrix environment.
  • Confident and comfortable delivering change in a dynamic environment.
  • PLC experience.
  • Diplomatic with a high level of emotional intelligence you will challenge constructively and strive for continuous improvements.

Additional benefits and information for the role of Group Financial Controller:

The role will be hybrid, 2 days per week in the office, but will flex depending on the demands of the role.

The benefits include an OTE bonus of 30% and a car allowance of £7,700.
