About the Role

NCHA is looking for a Groundworker - Multi Trade to join our Responsive Repairs Team. You will be responsible for carrying out groundwork repairs and maintenance across our housing stock, ensuring a high-quality, efficient, and customer-focused repair service.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform external maintenance and repairs, including landscaping, pathways, driveways, car parks, bricklaying, repointing, and rendering
2. Maintain and repair boundaries, including walls and all types of fencing
3. Inspect, maintain, and repair drainage systems, including surveys, excavation, and replacements
4. Carry out basic multi-trade repairs, including plumbing, joinery, and patch plastering as required
5. Handle, store, and dispose of materials and substances safely
6. Maintain and update computerised records and provide detailed reports
7. Work in accordance with Health & Safety policies and procedures
8. Maintain and store all equipment in good working order
9. Collaborate with other teams to ensure the completion of repairs within agreed timescales
10. Participate in the emergency out-of-hours rota to provide 24/7 service coverage

About You
Essential Qualifications & Knowledge

1. NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant construction trade OR extensive experience in a similar role
2. Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations

Skills & Experience

1. Proven experience in groundworks, including excavation, laying/repairing paths, kerbs, and driveways
2. Experience in drainage work, including full surveys, unblocking, and replacements
3. Expertise in brickwork, including repointing, bricklaying, and rendering
4. Experience erecting and repairing various types of fencing
5. Basic skills in plumbing, joinery, and patch plastering
6. Experience working in social housing (desirable)
7. Excellent customer service skills
8. Competent in using computerised systems for work records

Additional Requirements

1. Full manual driving licence is essential
