Grounds Maintenance Operative

Based around the Nottingham region but may involve travel to other locations.

Vehicle and tools provided.

Mon-Fri with overtime available plus occasional overnight stays.

Candidates must have valid UK driving licence.

Our client is looking for a Field Technician with some light civils experience, i.e., brick laying, paving, landscaping, etc., working on the sites owned by the likes of the Coal Authority & MoD.

Previous experience within Grounds Maintenance/Labourer/Landscape Gardening will be ideal.

360 dumper experience ideal.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

As our Field Technician, you will be required to carry out Grounds Maintenance and general maintenance activities within our customer base nationwide, providing seasonal solutions to varied sites, working on your own initiative to deliver for our customers. A range of duties which could involve: Grounds Maintenance, small scale ground works, Reed Bed maintenance and lagoon management, small repair work, and site cleaning are core to the role.

The key duties of the role are:

1. Operate and maintain the highest Health & Safety and quality standards in accordance with all Company policy and procedures.
2. Work collaboratively as part of a two-man team.
3. Operate various types of “hand-held” and “sit on” equipment such as strimmers, mowers, flails, and potentially amphibious reed bed cutting plant, and have experience in commercial Grounds Maintenance.
4. Assist with barrier and protection during works to protect other operatives, customer personnel, and the general public.
5. Promote and uphold the company's Courteous Driving Policy.
6. Ensure that all equipment is maintained, used correctly, and all relevant paperwork is completed daily including fault reporting.
7. Manage and maintain the highest level of training for your role, seeking out new opportunities to further your development, whilst keeping up to date with new techniques.
8. Drive to deliver, going above and beyond when required for the customer.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE

The successful candidate will need to have basic health and safety risk assessment knowledge, experience in Grounds Maintenance, although full training will be provided, and previous experience in a customer-facing role. A full UK driving license is required for this position.
