Job description

Job Title: Grants & Finance Officer

The Bonavero Institute of Human Rights is seeking to recruit a Grants & Finance Officer to support all aspects of pre and post award research and financial administration at the institute. The post holder will be based at the Bonavero Institute at Oxford at Mansfield College though some hybrid working will be possible. The postholder will be line managed by the Institute Administrator, and will be an important member of the Institute team as well as the Administrative and Research Support Team at the Faculty of Law.

The postholder will work closely with the Faculty’s Research Support Team, the Institute Administrator and Institute’s Head of Research to:

  1. Communicate potential funding schemes suitable for institute staff.
  2. Provide quarterly project ledger reports for the purposes of quarterly forecasting and management committee reporting.
  3. Set-up supplier records in the Oracle Financials system and track and securely store supplier contracts and pricing from institute suppliers, prior to agreement and setting up in Oracle Financials.
  4. Help monitor the institute’s shared research email inbox.

The successful candidate should have proven experience of research grants administration, or equivalent administrative experience; be able to communicate effectively in person and online, with people in a variety of roles, and occasionally work in different time zones; possess demonstrable skills in summarising, analysing and understanding financial data, able to identify anomalies and produce accurate work, even under pressure. Experience of UKRI and/or European research administration and having AAT or similar accounting course awards is desirable.

This is a permanent, full-time role (would consider 0.8 FTE) and the postholder will be based at the Bonavero Institute for Human Rights, Mansfield College, Oxford, with flexibility to work hybrid.
