Job description

We are seeking to appoint a Grant Writer at the Centre for Energy Ethics (CEE) within the School of Philosophical, Anthropological and Film Studies at the University of St Andrews. In this role, you will work closely with the Centre Director, Deputy Director, Centre Manager, Digital Communications Officer, Event Coordinator, Artist-in-Residence, and the wider research team to develop and draft compelling, well-researched grant proposals that support CEE collaborative research.

This role offers significant scope for creativity, originality, and collaboration. Key responsibilities include working closely with CEE researchers to initiate, coordinate and draft grant submissions, especially for UKRI grant calls. You will also organise grant-focused events and proactively pursue new funding opportunities. You will lead CEE's grant development and evaluation processes, setting key milestones, building relationships and fostering collaborations, and providing skills training in grant writing.

The ideal candidate will have firsthand experience in grant writing and a strong passion for enhancing the CEE funding capacity. You will bring excellent writing, organisational, and communication skills. A strong team player with excellent interpersonal abilities, you will also be a self-starter, capable of planning, organising, and prioritising tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will proactively engage with CEE researchers and affiliated members across various Schools and Units.

This post will be based in the Centre for Energy Ethics, School of Philosophical Anthropological & Film Studies, Department of Social Anthropology, 71 North Street, St Andrews. However, hybrid/remote working will also be considered.
