As a Graduate Civil & Structural Engineer you will be part of an organisation that is 100-percent employee owned, that supports and creates many opportunities for you to advance, succeed and fulfil your career aspirations. You will have the opportunity to work with engineering teams to create detailed designs, plans, and specifications.

Primary Objectives

Under supervision design projects designated by your Group Leader. Carry out detailed design and calculations in accordance with either British Standards or Eurocode as directed. Assist and prepare specifications, reports and drawings to the design programme. Attend meetings and attend site to review/monitor works; accompanied by your line manager or project leader as directed.

Responsibilities

In this role, we'll count on you to:

  • Assist the Senior Engineer with site studies, site designs, contract documentation preparation and graphic presentation
  • Perform overall site layout, grading, utility layout and drainage
  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
  • Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
  • Perform administrative duties associated with project management for civil/structural projects
  • Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
  • Perform other duties as needed
  • Develop own technical expertise and performance against objectives, as agreed with the line manager as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Competency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.
  • The ability to project a positive and professional attitude at all times.
  • Good knowledge and use of appropriate project and design analysis software.
  • Personable and a ‘can do’ attitude with resource management experience.
  • Able to establish rapport and good working relationships within the project team and Clients.
  • To be able to work as part as a team and collaboratively and co-operatively.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel and Word, AutoCAD, MicroStation a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
