Graduate Structural Engineer Job Overview
- Work on a wide range of interesting projects across various sectors
- Prepare an outline brief, visit site, review information including planning history and services
- Carry out structural designs in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry
- Prepare technical details for Architectural design and prepare technical specifications
- Liaise and attend meetings with Architects, clients, subcontractors and other professionals
- Represent the business in a professional and courteous way
- Conduct site visits to assess projects and ensure adherence to design specifications
- Assessing the sustainability and environmental impact of projects
- Making sure the project complies with statutory requirements
- Complying with Health and Safety and CDM regulations
- Work towards Chartership (IStructE/ICE) with our support
Graduate Structural Engineer Job Requirements
- Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
- Working towards Chartered status
- Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in structural design
- Capability to prepare structural designs in all conventional materials
- Experience in refurbishment projects
- Have a global view of structural design on a project, identifying potential problems and solutions and providing advice to clients on design options
- Talent to prepare schematic structural designs based on basic architectural layouts
- An ability to write clear and concise emails, letters, and reports
