Graduate Sports Coach – SEMH Education

Location: Chorley
Contract: Temporary with opportunity for a permanent role
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Are you a sports graduate looking to gain valuable experience in education? This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) provision, supporting students with behaviours that challenge.

In this role, you will use physical education to engage students, promote positive behaviour, and build confidence. Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams, you will help students develop teamwork, resilience, and self-regulation through structured sports activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and support physical education sessions tailored to SEMH students
  • Use sport as a tool to encourage engagement and manage challenging behaviours
  • Build positive relationships with students to support their personal and academic development
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to create a structured and inclusive learning environment
Minimum Requirements:
  • A degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field
  • A passion for working with young people, particularly those with SEMH needs
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • A proactive and adaptable approach
