Project Execution Support Manager

Your role and responsibilities

Working as a Graduate Project Engineer, you will be delivering the hardware and software platforms for various automation systems and services, engineering projects in the Energy Industries in the UK, providing hands-on support to our projects. You will be joining a team working with operational technology, the hardware and software that detects or causes a change, through the direct monitoring and/or control of industrial equipment, assets, processes, and events. Reporting to the Engineering Section Manager, you will implement hands-on technical solutions in various phases of customer projects to ensure successful delivery of project deliverables on time, within budget and in line with quality and safety guidelines.

Qualifications for the role

  1. A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies.
  2. Sound practical knowledge of IT foundations: Operating Systems, Networks, Cybersecurity principles.
  3. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Networks Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or similar STEM foundations.
  4. Willingness to gain hands-on understanding of ABB’s Industrial Automation systems.
  5. Willingness to gain hands-on understanding of ABB’s digital/cloud-based tools and solutions.
  6. Willingness to participate in all aspects of the ABB UK Graduate development program.
  7. Able to work closely with a team of software and hardware engineers.
  8. Able to work closely within an integrated multi-national team of specialist engineers and tools.
  9. An interest in Energy Transition and Sustainability.
