Are you a talented Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for innovation and developing cutting–edge technology?

Our client is seeking a design graduate to join and grow with their engineering team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in designing and optimizing niche machinery while working on key client projects.

Job Overview:

As a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer, you will develop detailed designs for manufacturing machinery and associated components, ensuring compliance with performance specifications and industry standards. You will also collaborate with cross–functional teams to drive product innovation and ensure quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Development: Create 3D models and detailed drafts using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  2. Analysis and Validation: Conduct stress, thermal, and vibration analysis using simulation tools like FEA and CFD.
  3. Prototyping and Testing: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to produce and evaluate prototypes, implementing design improvements as needed.
  4. Technical Documentation: Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate records of design revisions.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and project management teams, as well as liaising with clients to understand project requirements and provide technical support.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Degree / HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry knowledge and experience.
  2. At least 3 years of proven experience in designing and developing machinery, such as printing, labeling, or die–cutting systems.
  3. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Solidedge).
  4. Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
  5. Familiarity with engineering analysis tools.

Desirable Skills and Attributes:

  1. Knowledge of vibration analysis, stress dynamics, and balancing techniques.
  2. Strong problem–solving skills and a proactive approach to design challenges.
  3. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly.
  4. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team–oriented environment.

Additional Role Information:

  1. Salary of up to 34,000 plus discretionary bonus scheme.
  2. 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 5.00pm and Friday 8.00am to 2.00pm.
