Job description

My client, a specialist UK based Engineering and Environmental Consultancy, is searching for a Graduate Consultant to join a supportive team based in central Cardiff for a fixed term contract.

It is essential that applicants have a strong academic background including a MSc and/or BSc in Hydrology, Geography, Environmental Modelling or Hydraulic Modelling and ideally have a driving licence. You will be expected to have a keen interest in hydrology, hydrometry, GIS, hydraulic modelling and water quality.

Candidates are required to have a strong background in numeracy (preferably a strong A level or GCSE in Mathematics or Science) and an interest in data sampling and analysis.

Responsibilities:
  1. Flood Risk Assessments for Planning Applications
  2. Strategic Flood Risk Assessment for developers
  3. Flood Estimation using ReFH and Winfap
  4. Rainfall Analysis
  5. Hydrology, Hydrogeological and Environmental Chapters for EIAs
  6. Water Quality Assessments
  7. GIS Mapping
  8. Drainage Strategies and SAB Applications
  9. Site visits for water monitoring, hydrometry and peat surveys
