Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant

Salary: Up to £540 per week

Location: Leicester City Centre

Leicester Primary School & Nursery

With a focus on establishing a holistic learning environment, as well as supporting the crucial early stages of development in language acquisition, phonics, and literacy, this Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant role will equip you with invaluable experience and serve as a valuable stepping stone to build your career within the education sector.

Responsibilities:

• Support children in nursery and reception, helping them develop language, motor skills, and social confidence.
• Assist with phonics, storytelling, early numeracy, and creative play activities.
• Help create sensory and play-based learning experiences that engage and inspire young minds.
• Work closely with teachers and EYFS staff, supporting learning through play and hands-on activities.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support, ensuring every child feels safe, valued, and encouraged.

Qualifications:

• Passionate about early years education, with an understanding of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework.
• A 2:1 or higher degree in Education, Psychology, Early Childhood Studies, or a related field.
• Experience working with young children (e.g., nursery, babysitting, tutoring, voluntary work) is desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive and positive approach.
• Matching A Levels and GCSEs.
