Caloo Ltd are a leading Playground, Fitness & Sport Equipment supplier based in Stoke Mandeville that has been trading across England & Wales since 2007.

Working within the Education Sector, Local Authorities, Parish & Town Councils & Construction Sector, Caloo provides customers with a CAD/3D design service promoting projects with the end customer. Due to market growth, Caloo is looking to expand our design team with a graduate position who will be able to learn & grow with the business.

Job Title: Playspace Designer (Graduate)

Purpose Of The Role

We are looking for a creative and motivated Design Graduate to join our team as a Playspace Designer. You will be responsible for managing the design and illustration aspects of our playspace projects, working closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to create visually compelling proposals and technical designs. You will report to the Group Design Manager and ensure the timely completion of all design and illustration tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to ensure that all design activities meet project timelines and client specifications, adhering to Caloo's ISO9001 standards.
  2. Prepare 3D visual proposals of sites, incorporating individual product designs or entire site layouts, based on client requirements and sales briefs.
  3. Design, quantify, and contribute to the costing of proposals, using creativity and expertise to enhance client suggestions and ensure designs are both functional and cost-effective.
  4. Analyse design proposals to optimize for both value and price advantages.
  5. Process files from suppliers and ensure all relevant product information is incorporated into the design.
  6. Prepare dimensioned site plans and installation instructions, ensuring clear and accurate communication for installation teams.
  7. Create and maintain product data sheets, including dimensional data and other essential specifications.
  8. Contribute to the development of new products, collaborating with the team to bring innovative ideas to life.
  9. Carry out any additional design-related tasks as directed by the line manager.
Ideal Candidate

  1. A recent graduate in Design, Architecture, or a related field with a passion for creative and technical design.
  2. High knowledge of AutoCAD software.
  3. Strong understanding of design principles, 3D modelling, and illustration.
  4. Able to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  5. Familiarity with ISO9001 or similar quality management systems is a plus.
  6. A proactive, organized individual with the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  7. Experience with design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, or similar) is preferred.
