Graduate Design Engineer

Graduate Design Engineer required for my client who work heavily within the automotive and CNC engineering industries, based near to Chichester, West Sussex.

The successful engineer will work regularly on projects that include work such as jigs and fixtures, vacuum forming and injection moulding. They have recently invested in 3D printing and laser scanning equipment to further endorse their projects.

They work with multiple clients and a variety of different projects so you will be able to explore your full design engineering skills.

Graduate Design Engineer Position Overview

1. Provide a design to meet customer requirements which are optimised to efficient manufacturing, whilst ensuring that the individual customer design time is not exceeded.
2. Supply customers with full CAD package as per customer RFQ, gain sign off for design from supervisor prior communication with customer.
3. Work with the Design Engineer to develop the CAD design process and investigate potential cost savings through better design, design methodologies, production processes or more cost-effective materials.
4. Ensure all relevant information is entered into companies processes and all requirements of companies ISO9001 certification is met.
5. Working on 3D printing and laser scanning machines to help the process development of company products.

Graduate Design Engineer Position Requirements

1. A degree within an engineering subject or equivalent.
2. Ability to produce design in 2D and 3D CAD.
3. Good understanding of metal and materials.
4. Good practical understanding of manufacturing processes, ideally including CNC machining.
5. Knowledge in VISI/VERO software package is desirable but can be trained.
6. Based within a commutable distance of Chichester.
7. Full UK driving licence is preferable.

Graduate Design Engineer Position Remuneration

1. Salary - 25,000 to 30,000 - dependent upon experience, skills and qualifications (Salary may be hourly rate to cater to overtime opportunities).
2. Working hours - 40 hours - Monday to Friday - overtime opportunities as well.
3. Holiday package - 25 days + bank holidays.
4. Company pension scheme.
