Graduate Civil Engineer

Our client, a Civil Engineering Contractor based in West Sussex, is looking for a Graduate Civil Engineer to work on design projects including climate adaptation and infrastructure. The Graduate Civil Engineer will receive a generous salary up to £32k, along with a car allowance or Salary Sacrifice Electric/Hybrid Car Scheme, company bonus, private healthcare, and fantastic career development.

The Graduate Civil Engineer will support the delivery of designs at the tender stage, which will include 3D, 4D, and 5D modelling, GIS, computer-based design, and visualisation.

Graduate Design Engineer Job Overview

1. Produce working drawings using AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Revit & Navisworks.
2. Build strong working relationships with clients and external designers.
3. Maintain compliance with relevant procedures and provision of documentation for Quality, Environmental & Health & Safety (CDM Regulations).
4. Assess design risks with consideration of buildability, safety, and environmental factors.
5. Ensure design information is of the right quality and keeps up to date with project timescales.
6. Provide cost-effective technical solutions.
7. Deliver design drawings and supporting calculations for temporary and permanent works, including provision of calculations, drawings, specifications, and documentation.
8. Provide technical advice throughout the organisation, including product specifications and suitability of products, structural calculations, and geotechnical analysis.
9. Be proactive and influential in the success of the company.

Graduate Design Engineer Job Requirements

1. HND or Degree in a Civil or Structural Engineering discipline.
2. 0-3 years' experience on site and/or in a design office environment.
3. IT Microsoft Office skills - Evision, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Business Collaborator.
4. Some knowledge of AutoDesk software packages, ideally: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Robot, Navisworks & Infraworks.
5. Knowledge of B.I.M. and CDM Regulations.
6. Commercial awareness and some understanding of NEC3,4 & JCT contracts.
7. Knowledge of compliance with QHSE legislation.
8. Full UK driving licence.
9. CSCS Card.
10. Temporary Works Coordinator would be advantageous.
