Summary:As a Graduate/Assistant Flood & Drainage Engineer, you will be responsible for designing drainage systems to ensure safe water/sewerage flow. You will be responsible for the technical aspects of complete projects as directed by the Line Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supports engineering projects by adapting and applying engineering techniques conducting tests and inspections preparing reports and calculations.
Provide general project support including site surveys, attendance at project meetings, assistance with site inspections and general representation of the Company outside of the office.
Provide complete technical management of projects as directed by your line manager.
Carry out assessments of both private and commercial wastewater treatment facilities including inspections, surveys, reports and recommendations.
Carry out foul and surface water drainage design as well as Flood Risk Assessments.
Develop scheme designs as reasonably required by your Line Manager (and Senior Engineers when required) to include environmental, civil and general arrangement design as appropriate.
Assist with the preparation of technical reports, to general Company standards and to the particular requirements of the Line Manager and Senior Engineers, as applicable.
Prepare technical drawings on paper and digital format to general Company standards and to the particular requirements of the Line Manager and Senior Engineers, as applicable.
Supervise / undertake the plotting and issue of technical drawings maintain drawing issue sheets and record copies in a tidy and ordered state.
Take receipt of incoming technical information in paper and digital format and ensure safe and proper storage maintain adequate records of all information received.
Ensure compliance of all drawing office procedures with good practice and Quality Assurance procedures, as appropriate.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
Advanced use of standard Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) as well as AutoCAD
Use of other engineering software (e.g. MicroDrainage) would be advantageous.
