You’ll work closely with the wider art team to learn industry-standard tools, workflows, and best practices, developing practical skills in asset creation and engine integration.

This is a learning-focused role where you'll contribute to production while building your skills, receiving regular feedback, and growing your understanding of how great art supports gameplay and immersion.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Assist in the creation and modification of in-game 3D assets to support project needs.
  • Work from concept art, reference, or direction to produce simple game-ready models and textures.
  • Learn and apply best practices in 3D asset workflows, from blockout to final polish.
  • Follow established art styles, naming conventions, and integration processes.
  • Collaborate with immediate team members and respond to feedback from peers and leads.
  • Participate in team meetings, art reviews, and milestone check-ins.
  • Ask for help or flag issues that are blocking progress, and report regularly to your lead or mentor.
  • Develop your working knowledge of environment and prop pipelines, engine tools, and performance considerations.
  • Maintain documented work that supports easy handover and collaboration.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • A portfolio that demonstrates ability in 3D asset creation, with a good understanding of form and material use.
  • Basic experience using Maya for 3D modelling.
  • Familiarity with Substance Painter and Photoshop for texturing.
  • Experience with ZBrush.
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Passion for games and creating immersive, believable worlds.
  • Degree in Art or Game Art.

BONUS IF YOU HAVE

  • Exposure to tools such as Gaea or SpeedTree.
  • Awareness of game engine workflows and how assets fit into real-time environments.
  • Familiarity with PBR pipelines and the asset creation process from blockout to completion.
  • Experience with other tools such as Blender or 3ds Max.
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

You will work with talented and passionate people to support, develop or publish our sophisticated and enduring games, in a creative, collaborative and inclusive environment. We love what we do, and we work hard to provide outstanding experiences for our players.

Wellbeing is a big focus at Frontier, and we are continually evolving how we can support our people. We encourage a healthy work/life balance and provide a range of wellbeing activities, initiatives and sessions to support both mental and physical health.
