About the Role

Your role as a Governance & Risk Assessment Analyst on the Financial Crime Strategic Transformation Project is to work with the Group Financial Crime Program to help :

• Lead the way in innovative, effective and compliant financial crime risk management.
• Deliver Project Fortify, which has been established at an enterprise level to centrally manage law reform and regulatory expectations.
• Support delivery of strategic outcomes to optimise Financial Crime & External Fraud risk for FY30 and beyond that are aligned with business objectives and the bank we’re building.

What will your day look like?

As a Governance & Risk Assessment Analyst, you are accountable for :

• Analysing opportunities to coordinate and deliver changes required by law reform to continuously uplift and embed the Financial Crime Risk Theme across the enterprise.
• Working with the Financial Crime Governance Team and other subject matter experts (e.g. Risk, Legal) to analyse changes to the Financial Crime Risk Assessment Framework and risk assessment tools to reflect relevant legislative obligations and ANZ's risk appetite.
• Analysing opportunities to achieve Financial Crime strategic outcomes.
• Analysing thematic issues associated with the Risk Themes, including External Fraud Risk and the Scams Prevention Framework Act to be raised with the relevant Risk Officer (e.g. control objectives, material issues and events, control failures and improvement opportunities).

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following :

• Financial Crime subject matter experience across AML / CTF, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, External Fraud and Scams.
• Understanding of risk management disciplines.
• Understanding risks associated with banking products, channels, and services.
• Ability to solve problems involving various stakeholders, create shared clarity, remain results-focused and balance risk and customer outcomes.
• Strong experience in financial crime regulatory compliance in the financial services industry.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements, expectations and better practices globally with respect to ML / TF risks.
