Governance Manager - Mental Health

Open to UK Wide but needs to be able get to the following locations: Angel Court, London, EC2R 7HJ & Bupa Place, Manchester, M50 3SP

Hybrid working arrangement of office & home + visiting clinics

Full time, Permanent, 37.5 per week

£48,000 per annum + Excellent Benefits

Bupa Health Clinics is seeking a dedicated and experienced Governance Manager with a primary focus on virtual and face to face Mental Health services. The role is central to maintaining and enhancing the quality of care provided through our services, including (but not limited to) both Virtual and Face to Face Mental Health triage, Talking Therapies, Young Persons Talking Therapies & the Employee Assistance Program, ensuring adherence to regulatory, statutory, and corporate requirements. The Governance Manager is responsible for ensuring that Bupa Health Clinics adheres to the standards and requirements of various regulatory, oversight and accreditation bodies, with a strong emphasis on Mental Health Services. The role will support the development and implementation of strong governance structures with BHC Mental Health Services.

You'll help us make health happen by:

  • Develop and implement strategies for continuous quality and compliance in mental health services.
  • Align operational practices with professional and regulatory guidance, mitigating risks.
  • Support governance and quality teams, ensuring compliance with mental health services.
  • Act as the primary contact for governance changes due to legislative updates.
  • Stay updated on regulations and guidelines for clinical governance in mental health.
  • Manage governance, regulatory, clinical, and quality activities.
  • Implement and oversee clinical governance frameworks for safe, effective service delivery.
  • Regularly assess and ensure service quality compliance with Bupa and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure due diligence for new mental health partners.
  • Identify and manage clinical and non-clinical risks within mental health services.
  • Manage relationships and ensure compliance with service level agreements.
  • Monitor and support mental health partnerships for quality standards.
  • Conduct audits and service reviews for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance for external audits and inspections.
  • Formulate and revise governance policies and procedures.
  • Implement policies across mental health services, providing guidance and support.
  • Act as an autonomous practitioner with accountability for actions.
  • Provide governance leadership and contribute to clinical governance and quality strategy.
  • Support clinical audit plans and ensure clinical delivery surpasses national standards.
  • Develop evidence-based services and offer specialist advice on quality and risk management.
  • Develop effective and productive working relationships.
  • Engage in working groups to enhance service delivery.
  • Assist in achieving governance, quality, and risk objectives.
  • Oversee recommendations and action plans from inspections.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour and provide clinical leadership.
  • Lead mental health service audits and ensure inspection readiness.

Qualifications, Training & Experience:

Essential:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Professional registration; NMC, HCPC or GMC.
  • Extensive Knowledge of UK regulatory bodies.
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including influencing and negotiating
  • Ability to demonstrate customer led thinking.
  • Experience of leading and implementing audits
  • Experience of regulatory compliance across the United Kingdom
  • Experience of quality improvement project(s)
  • Experience of using incident and risk management systems
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Experience of mobilising new services

Desirable:
  • Formal Root Cause Analysis training
  • Experience of compliance auditing
  • Experience of stakeholder management
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience with quality improvement projects
  • Working knowledge of Mental Health services.
