The vacancy

Governance Manager

Permanent, 37 hours per week

Home based with travel to Newcastle under Lyme

£62k + £2,140.80 car allowance, plus competitive benefits

Are you an experienced professional passionate about Governance, Compliance, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement? We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Governance Manager to lead our Governance and Executive PA services, ensuring we excel in meeting regulatory and statutory obligations.

About the role

Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Finance, you will:

  1. Shape and drive improvements in governance, regulatory and compliance frameworks.
  2. Provide expert guidance to the Executive Team, Board and Committees, developing robust senior stakeholder relationships.
  3. Lead the risk and assurance management framework, delivering confidence through rigorous review and oversight.
  4. Maintain and develop a governance and regulatory framework identifying opportunities and risk to facilitate long-term planning.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  1. Is innovative and can introduce new approaches and drive continuous improvement in all aspects of governance, regulation and compliance.
  2. Will champion a collaborative and high-quality Governance Business Partnering service across the organisation.
  3. Keeps well informed of best practice and regulatory and legal changes, adapting governance strategies proactively.
