Job summary

*This role is remote with the requirement to travel throughout the UK and to Bolton Head Office.

As the Governance and Assurance Lead you will be akey part of the management team responsible for ensuring good practice isadhered to when it comes to governance, safeguarding and health & safety. Youwill provide guidance and recommendations to staff where necessary, as well asorganising any relevant training where appropriate. You will work closely with seniormanagement, providing regular updates and highlighting any potential risks orconcerns that will need to be addressed.

Main duties of the job

Governance and Quality assurance

Support the contracts under your remit to ensureall of the governance arrangements operate in line with organisationalexpectations and CQC requirements (safe, effective, responsive, caring &well led).

Oversee the monthly audit evidence submissions andsupport the Operational Leads where required in the interest of serviceimprovement and regulatory compliance.

Prepare and submit timely reports on governance,audit findings, and service quality improvement initiatives to seniormanagement as required.

Contribute to the overall quality assurance of ABLGovernance systems and take remedial action to improve these where required.

Support senior management to implementorganisational policies, ensuring compliance with legislation, standards andbest practice.

o Act as a focal point for staff Health & Safetyenquiries.

o Present governance and compliance updates to theHealth and Safety Review Board and other organisational performance reviewboards as required.

o Promote and support Health and Safety good practicein the workplace by providing information and relevant training to build staff capabilityand knowledge.

o Where required, undertake mandatory riskassessments and consider how risks can be reduced.

o Provide support on workplace adjustments bymanaging reasonable adjustment requests, provide equipment where required.

o Undertake site safety inspections to check policiesand procedures are being properly implemented and ensuring all documentation isup to date.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum of 2 years working in a health or social care related field.
Desirable

  • IOSH or NEBOSH Qualified.
  • Safeguarding Level 4 (Designated Safeguarding Officer).
  • Safeguarding supervision.
  • There will be the opportunity to gain these qualifications if you do not hold them.
Experience

Essential

  • A mature understanding of Governance systems in a health or social care setting.
  • Understanding and experience of regulatory compliance in a CQC regulated setting.
Desirable

  • Experience working in a health promotion setting.
