The Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) Operations Director is responsible for directing activities of Supply Chain Operations function in accordance with company policies and procedures. Oversees the management of Team Performance (SCAs/Buyers), New Business Strategy, Supplier Performance, Transportation Operations, and Strategic Agreements.


The Supply Chain Operations Director leads a team of procurement representatives consisting of both subcontract administrators and buyers through the acquisition process of materials and services in support of a variety of programmes and customers. Ultimately responsible to ensure all subcontract and procurement related actions are executed in accordance with Amentum's policies and procedures. In addition, the GSCM Director monitors team performance through KPIs in an effort to mitigate total cost of ownership and improve operational performance related to supply chain. Other areas of responsibility include new business and capture support, implementation and training of procurement systems, supporting program transition efforts, and leading small business and vendor performance management efforts.


The Supply Chain Operations Director acts as liaison with program management, business operations, contracts, legal and finance. Responsible for managing a team, to include training, day-to-day direction, and performance management of assigned employees. Responsible to drive process improvements and seek opportunities for optimizing the procurement process. Responsible to ensure the quality and compliance of procurement files for their respective teams meet the GSCM standard.


You may be based (almost) anywhere in the UK, however visits to our office in Birchwood Park, Warrington will be required. You will be required to travel, also internationally.


Requirements
  1. In-depth knowledge of modern principles of efficient supply chain, purchasing/procurement management, materials movement and inventory control.
  2. Advanced knowledge of Global Regulatory Framework and procurement requirements, with particular emphasis on UK & EU laws and regulations.
  3. Strong organizational skills with the ability to develop and execute effective strategies.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to respond to customer and business requests and communicate with a wide variety of levels and positions.
  5. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders with competing interests.
  6. Strong demonstrated business acumen and strategic business judgment.
  7. Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline. Additional experience in supply chain management, purchasing or subcontracting may be substituted for each year of college.
  8. Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply or equivalent.
  9. Extensive experience in supply chain, procurement, or related field, with several years leadership/supervisory experience.
  10. Experience in a high volume, global supply chain management environment.
  11. Experience in procurement, supply chain optimization, implementation of best industry practices, and change management.
  12. Related professional experience in Procurement supporting EPC projects.
  13. Proficient understanding of Purchasing, Expediting, Supplier Quality, Freight & Logistics roles and responsibilities on EPC projects.
  14. Experience of working with NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
