Global Head of Service - Automotive Protection

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Automotive Protection (AP) business as a Global Head of Service. This role will lead, direct & be accountable for the Operations functions within AP to ensure the delivery of an optimum support services function.

This is a key role sitting on the leadership team that will support in developing and executing the Operations Strategy and continued digitisation for the division; and be responsible for the operational and change management for the division.

Within this role you will work closely with Underwriting (UW) and global Distribution Heads to align on the strategy and deliver technology, structure, process and systems to deploy it across the division.

Your New Role:

Strategy and Planning

  1. Drive digitisation and optimisation of Underwriting operations globally, including AI and no-touch end-to-end solutions.
  2. Develop a change agenda/strategy for the operations group to deliver broader company objectives and support senior leaders with operational reporting.
  3. Partner across other QBE divisions to implement best practices and optimise real estate footprint.

Policy, Process, and Procedures
  1. Run operations for the division, ensuring processes and systems remain current and compliant.
  2. Collaborate effectively with UW, distribution, claims, and GSSC teams to improve overall service quality.
  3. Drive digitisation and oversee the global transformation agenda.

Environmental Awareness/Customer Focus
  1. Lead Operational Excellence efforts to improve service and reduce cost, managing relationships with GSSC.
  2. Ensure compliance with group and regulatory business continuity obligations and lead the regional digital team.

Technical Performance
  1. Act as an IT focal point and manage co-ordination of resources to support client needs.
  2. Oversee decisions on UW-operations relating to core systems and manage credit control processes.

People Management
  1. Lead, engage, and retain employees, providing tactical support for direct reports and peers.
  2. Manage team alignment with business needs, promoting high performance and professional development.

Risk
  1. Oversee the risk framework for the Global division and support the business in managing operational risk.

About you:
  • Previous experience of implementing large organisational change programmes.
  • Experience in Insurance and Underwriting with particular focus on strategy and being able to pivot the organisation.
  • Experience of managing 3rd party suppliers.
  • Experience of risk frameworks.
  • Well-developed analytical skills.
  • Developing and leading diverse high performance change teams across multiple locations.
  • Development of budgets and annual planning processes.
  • Influencing and partnering skills to deliver complex projects.
  • Awareness and understanding of markets and regulations.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills across organisational boundaries.
