Position Overview

Details of the role and how it fits into the team

Corporate Bank Technology is a global team of technology specialists, spread across multiple global financial and technology centres. We have a strong focus on promoting technical excellence – our engineers work at the forefront of financial services innovation using cutting-edge technologies. The Corporate Bank is undertaking a large scale investment in technology platforms, including payments, trust, loans and securities processing. The platforms are being built native in our hybrid cloud environment (GCP). Establishing engineering standards and preferences, providing governance to these standards to ensure a consistent approach.

You will be accountable for the Production Operations across the Payments portfolio of applications ensuring not only operational soundness of the portfolio but also driving significant service improvement to deliver increased stability and operating efficiency of the platforms responsible for processing Global Payments transactions for the Corporate Bank. You will lead a Global team operating on follow-the-sun principles providing full oversight of the production environment, reporting directly into the Lead of CB Production services.

Your key responsibilities

• Oversight of the operational activities of a Global team of approximately 100 resources, running more than 100 applications supporting core payment processing for DB.
• Providing leadership, inspiration and motivation to deliver significant operational improvements in the environment delivering increased stability and operational efficiency.
• Influence beyond your core team to ensure delivery of improvements and increasing operational awareness across CIO and Business stakeholders.
• Transforming culture and mindset of teams to seek technical advancement in solutions to reduce manual efforts and activities required to operate the environment.
• Building partnership across stakeholder community, recognizing their needs and building trust and transparency in the production environment.
• Driving to achieve the desired results of Fewer Incidents, Faster resolution, Safer Change underpinned by a work culture to Eliminate Manual, Manage Risk and Improve our controls.

Your skills and experiences

• You will have experience in managing a large, global and culturally diverse team, experienced in budget management and people development building a learning culture across every member of the team.
• Long years experience in managing a large application portfolio in production within Financial services environment.
• Ability to drive for solutions and resolution during crisis, experience in managing and leading incident response in challenging and sensitive environment.
• Well versed in Stakeholder management and an ability to influence beyond your direct scope to achieve desired outcomes.
• Ability to build a vision and the subsequent planning, influence and alignment required to achieve it.
• Be able to understand and converse in technical language, alongside an ability to translate information for non-technical consumers in simple and clear communications.
• You will be tenacious and continually strive for improvements in your area of responsibility, recognizing when to be pragmatic in solutions but always trusted to “do the right thing.”
