Global Head of IT Project Management

Olympus is recruiting for a Global Head of IT Project Management. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and executing Hybrid and Agile program and project delivery standards.
Purpose of this Position:
To provide strategic oversight of all team-managed programs and projects, ensuring optimal resource allocation from centralized delivery pools. Additionally, the project management lead ensures that all IT initiatives are strategically aligned with the company's objectives, delivering significant value. This position is pivotal in the Global S/4 ERP Implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Vision and Leadership: Develop and communicate a clear vision for the IT Program & Project Management Office that aligns with the organization’s overall business strategy.
- Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive IT strategies to drive competitive advantage and long-term value.
- Partner with other Program & Project Management organizations to develop a holistic approach in delivering technology initiatives, including large scale programs such as ERPs driving Olympus Business Transformation.
- Project and Program Governance: Establish and enforce project management methodologies, standards, and best practices. Ensure that all projects and programs are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership (up to CxO level), to ensure alignment and support for IT initiatives.
- Act as the primary point of contact for IT matters within the executive team.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation in project management practices, incorporating the latest industry trends and technologies. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the IT department.
- Risk Management: Develop and oversee a comprehensive risk management framework to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Performance Metrics and Reporting: Develop and implement performance metrics to measure the success of IT projects and programs. Provide regular updates to senior leadership on the status of IT initiatives and performance metrics.
- Budget Oversight: Manage the budget for the IT Program & Project Management Office, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively. Monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with the financial goals of the organization.
- Talent Development: Lead the development and mentoring of project management talent within the organization. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Change Management: Oversee change management initiatives to ensure smooth transitions and adoption of new processes and technologies.
- Vendor and Partner Relations: Partner with the IT strategic supplier management and procurement team to manage relationships with external vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring service level agreements are met.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or similar field (or equivalent and related experience preferred).
- Minimum 10 years working experience as a Project Delivery Lead or in a similar Lead function.
- Minimum 15 years working in Project Delivery or related field.
- Good knowledge of Technology solutions and technical capabilities.
- Experience partnering with all levels of the organization.
- Experience defining and leveraging effectiveness metrics.
- Experience in an agile IT environment; SAFe experience is desired.
- Experience developing business cases to support line of business requirements.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in Technology, Project Management, and Project Delivery.
- Demonstrable experience working with Program Managers, Project Managers, and a wide range of business stakeholders.
- Experience in building relationships and consensus across the organization.
- Experience of Business Analysis.
- Experience with ERP (SAP) implementation is desired.
- Demonstrable experience of working on Process Improvement projects.
